the {momentous event}

Matt is no longer my boyfriend as of March 1, 2013... He is my FIANCÉ!!!!!!!

We're {overjoyed} to share with y'all that we are getting married!

A full story of how it all went down is coming your way...

For Better or Fort Worth,
-Jenny & Matt

need a good laugh??

I've often thought of my life as entertaining with moments where I ask myself {is this real?} and {you've got to be kidding me!!!} Living with three puppies has only increased the amount of times these moments occur... And since I can't kick them to the curb (though I'd be lying if I said there haven't been times the thought has crossed my mind!), I'll entertain y'all with the stories and hopefully provide a good laugh at my expense!

I don't know if it is because {Carlos & Vida} were abandoned and had to make-do with what they found as toys, but interesting objects find their way into our home, despite having a room full of toys! Numerous times, they've come galloping in the back door with a {sprinkler head} hanging out the side of their mouths. 1) We do not have a sprinkler system, nor do we have lone sprinkler heads. This leads me to believe that these sprinkler heads were {treasures} left behind by previous owners. Great!

Then there are the occasional windy days, where trash seems to collect in our backyard. I know what you're thinking... {Lucky us, right!?} On these glorious days, {Carlos and Vida} will bring anything from potato chip bags to dirty tissues into the house...and don't think {Milly} is a perfect angel.  She'll find {trash treasures} too - cereal boxes and butter wrappers :-) we love life around here! (please read previous sentence with a hint of sarcasm)

The real treasure I found inside the house was brought in last night by {the one, the only...Carlos} and this is what led me to write...because honestly, with what you're about to read, the only thing to do is laugh.

I had been playing phone-tag with one of my best friends {Taylor} to catch up on life and fill her in our the {momentous event} that happened this past weekend. Finally we've found each other at a free moment to talk, and mid conversation, Carlos comes {racing} through the back door and plops down on the couch with his newest found treasure... a mound of petrified poop. A MOUND OF PETRIFIED POOP!!!!! ON THE COUCH!!!! My reaction was anything but calm, and all I wanted to do was get the poop out of my house! So, my impulse reaction... grab the poop with my BARE HAND, run to the back door and toss it, {all while on the phone with Taylor, who by the way, cannot stop laughing}. I immediately scrubbed my hands with scalding hot water and soap, but still...I picked up dog poop with my bare hand. WHO DOES THAT!?!???? Is this {really} my life? Why yes, yes it is :-) Lessons to learn here: 1) poop is not a toy, Carlos, and 2) in state of panic when dealing with poop on your couch, it's important to remember the paper towel.

{don't let that cute face fool ya!}
Happy Tuesday from Fort Worth, TX!

one size bigger

Milly May's "house" just got upgraded! After weeks of looking somewhat cramped in her size {large} crate, Matt and I took a trip to Petsmart. Our sweet puppy girl is growing fast - 8 months and around 80 pounds!! She is now the proud owner of a size {x-large} crate. The extra square footage will be appreciated :-)

life got going

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! The holidays have passed and the new year is well underway! And {boy oh boy} there is so much to tell you...

I've had {good intentions} SO many times to write new blog posts, but life got going and, well, it hasn't stopped!  In order to get back into the {blogosphere groove}, I will highlight what has been going down with the Fort Worth clan and will expand those happenings in the upcoming posts. My hope is that by the end of the week, you'll be caught up on FBOFW's life!

We celebrated Christmas with my family in {St. Louis} and they finally got to meet Miss Milly May!

It was a fabulous but much too short trip! We headed back to Fort Worth on December 26th and celebrated the New Year at home... {just the three of us}.

2013 was going well until I got an itch that just HAD to be scratched.  That itch? I wanted to foster puppies who were waiting to find their {furever} families. There is so much to be said about this life event... what you need to know right now is that {I scratched that itch} SO WELL that I may never get the itch again because...

WE TOOK IN, not 1, but {2} FOSTER PUPPIES.
God bless {Matt} & {Milly} for loving me still...

Let me introduce you to {Carlos} and {Vida} - pit bull terriers and now 4 months old. Carlos is all black with the exception of his white feet.  Vida is a total mixture of black and white.

So now we have our 8-month old Great Pyrenees (her stats to come later!) and our two 4-month old foster pups, but the insanity doesn't stop there...

In addition to corralling the {puppy circus} that has become our life, what are {Matt & I} up to??
I am working full-time, undergoing teacher training and studying for my certification. Matt returned to traveling for work this January... every Monday through Friday.

Lots of hard work and very little play, but we're more {in love} than ever, {cherish} the short time we do share together and continue to {laugh} our way through the daily ups and downs!

Looking so forward to blogging again! FBOFW...

{canine cousins}

Our first thanksgiving in Fort Worth, and our first guest arrived this evening. Milly May's cousin, {Maggie the Great Dane} and we couldn't be happier!

More specifically, Maggie is the furry family member of Matt's older brother's family {John & Kelly & kids Lilly, Henry and baby Katherine}

We thought that Milly was a big pup...then we saw her next to Maggie. We thought Milly's crate was big...then we saw Maggie's crate. {omg}

All I have to say is {big dog problems} but we knew what we were getting in to when we choose to adopt a "Great Pyrenees mix."

Here are some {sizable} photos from tonight.

big dog problems

It's hard to believe that {Milly May} is only 5.5 months old, but weighs a whopping 56.5 pounds! She's also nearly outgrown her "large dog" crate. Guess that's what you get when you adopt a Great Pyrenees-Anatolian Shepherd mixed pup!!!

Here are a few recent pics of our furry baby... Enjoy!!
