{Our Love Story}

Matt lives in Fort Worth.  I lived in St. Louis.  He was working on an account in Indianapolis at the time.  And somehow our paths crossed in Chicago over Memorial Day Weekend 2011.

Matt was in Chicago for the long weekend with his good friend, Tanner.

I was there with my sister {Allison} and friends for her bachelorette party.

After dinner, the bachelorette party continued at Pops for Champagne.  Allison didn't want penis paraphernalia or games as part of her bachelorette weekend, and I thought I made that clear...

But {thankfully}, Allison's sweet sorority sister had no regard for this and brought a deck of dare cards for the bride.  Being the MOH, I went through the "deck of dares" & picked out a handful of cards.

The first dare: kiss a married man on the cheek. Well the man wasn't married, but he was having dinner with his significant other and that was good enough for us!

The second {and final last} dare: kiss a bald man's head.

Guess who is bald? Matt's good friend, Tanner :-)

And after that, the "deck of dares" disappeared and the bachelorette party continued on...with two new friends in tow: Matt & Tanner {who generously picked up our bar tab!}

After a night of drinking, dancing, drinking, drama & {more} drinking, Matt asked me for my number. And I thought to myself "why not!?" and put my number in his phone because I'm controlling and didn't think he was capable of doing it correctly.

What I didn't think was that Matt would call the next day. And the day after that. And the day after that. And continuously text me throughout the days...for 2 whole months!

Matt and I could {and did} talk for hours and still have yet to run out of conversation.

After the July 4th weekend, Matt said he was tired of only hearing my voice & wanted to see me again.

I thought to myself {once again} "why not!?" and told him he was more than welcome to come visit me in St. Louis, but there was no way I was going to Texas.

He booked his flight, and we spent 4 {unforgettable} days together.
Less than 24 hours after Matt's trip to St. Louis, I bought a plane ticket to Fort Worth...

And so began our year of suitcases, planes and flight delays.

At least that's how our story goes in my mind...
