{canine cousins}

Our first thanksgiving in Fort Worth, and our first guest arrived this evening. Milly May's cousin, {Maggie the Great Dane} and we couldn't be happier!

More specifically, Maggie is the furry family member of Matt's older brother's family {John & Kelly & kids Lilly, Henry and baby Katherine}

We thought that Milly was a big pup...then we saw her next to Maggie. We thought Milly's crate was big...then we saw Maggie's crate. {omg}

All I have to say is {big dog problems} but we knew what we were getting in to when we choose to adopt a "Great Pyrenees mix."

Here are some {sizable} photos from tonight.

big dog problems

It's hard to believe that {Milly May} is only 5.5 months old, but weighs a whopping 56.5 pounds! She's also nearly outgrown her "large dog" crate. Guess that's what you get when you adopt a Great Pyrenees-Anatolian Shepherd mixed pup!!!

Here are a few recent pics of our furry baby... Enjoy!!

record highs

Not even {24 hours} has passed since Halloween and people have already started decorating their homes, listening to holiday music and posting Facebook updates about getting in the holiday spirit!

In fact, on a walk through the neighborhood with {Milly} yesterday afternoon, I saw a full decorated, lit up Christmas tree! And at work* someone mentioned that she had already started shopping for Christmas gifts. {omg}

*more on this next!

Now, I am ALL about getting festive for the holidays! I love the holidays, especially the part where you spend way too much with your family but still look forward to the next family activity ;-) And I cannot wait to start new traditions with {my family of 3} this year, like decorating our first home for Christmas, make a Christmas wreath, get Cee Lo Green's Christmas album in which he sings with {the muppets} and bake Christmas cookies!!! But here's my issue...

It's fairly difficult to get into the holiday spirit when there is a record high of {88 degrees} today! I did not sign up for this, Texas...and I would greatly appreciate the return of cooler weather, even if it is just 60 degree weather.

Adjusting to life in the Lone Star State :-)

but....
for better or fort worth, right?
